My second-grader uses this for spelling practice. She listens to a word, writes it down, compares it with the answer, and keeps going until she’s done ‘em all correctly.

Initial version. It uses a fixed word list (editable in the source) and optional hyphens to slow down the Text-to-Speech engine. Mac only… so far.

Is there anyone knowledable to get it working for Ubuntu? Or pointing me in the right direction to try? Thanks!

The “Laddie” version runs on Ubuntu or (probably) any platform with Festival installed.
